Bengal Dragons Foundation Secures Welsh Government Funding for Mosque Solar Project
The Bengal Dragons Foundation (BDF) is delighted to announce that it has successfully secured funding from the Welsh Government’s Ynni Cymru programme to deliver it’s ground breaking Gwyrdd Bangla Project. As one of only 32 projects selected through a highly competitive process, this initiative will see solar panels and battery storage systems installed at several Mosques across South Wales.
This transformative project, which prioritises sustainability and community empowerment, aims to complete installations in time for Eid al-Fitr 2025, enabling the Mosques to embrace renewable energy by the end of Ramadan.
The project is designed to reduce energy costs and promote environmental responsibility, ensuring Mosques become examples of sustainability and resourcefulness. By adopting clean energy solutions, the Mosques will not only lessen their environmental impact but also inspire others in the community to embrace renewable energy.
BDF, along with its project partner Ynni Teg, will work closely with the Mosques to finalise agreements, tender for works, and ensure smooth implementation. Regular updates will be shared with stakeholders as the project progresses.
